Who we are

Leman Construction Inc. (“Leman”) operates this website at lemanconstruction.com. We are a residential construction firm based in Toronto, and our services are offered exclusively in the Greater Toronto Area. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this site, in compliance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). The firm has designated a Privacy Officer who is accountable for our compliance with this policy. The Privacy Officer can be reached through the contact information at the end of this page.

What we collect

We collect personal information in three ways:

• Form submissions. When you book a consultation, request the cost guide, submit a trade inquiry, or sign up for the journal newsletter, we collect the fields you provide (typically name, email, phone, and project details).
• Site analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site. These services collect anonymized session data via cookies. You can decline non-essential cookies through the consent banner that appears on first visit.
• Email correspondence. When you email us directly, we keep that correspondence for legitimate business purposes (responding to your inquiry, maintaining a project record).

Consent

By submitting a form, requesting the cost guide, subscribing to the journal, or emailing us, you consent to the collection and use of the information you provide for the purposes described in this policy. Marketing email is sent only with your express consent, given when you request the cost guide or subscribe to the newsletter, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by using the unsubscribe link or by contacting our Privacy Officer.

How we use it

Personal information collected through this site is used only for the purpose for which it was provided:

• Consultation requests are used to contact you about your project and, where relevant, to manage the project itself.
• Cost guide and newsletter signups are added to a Mailchimp list and used to send the requested PDF and a short series of follow-ups about renovation planning. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
• Trade inquiries are used to evaluate potential design or trade partnerships.
• Analytics data is aggregated and is not used to identify individual visitors.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the third-party services listed below, all of which have their own privacy policies and PIPEDA-compatible terms:

• Resend, transactional email delivery for form submissions and the cost guide PDF.
• Mailchimp, newsletter list and cost guide follow-up email automation.
• Sanity, content management. Form submissions that include lead-quality information are written here for owner review.
• Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, site analytics and session replay (anonymized).
• Slack, internal notifications when a new consultation request is submitted.
• Cal.com, showroom booking calendar.

Where your information is stored and processed

The service providers listed above operate on infrastructure located in Canada, the United States, and other jurisdictions. Personal information handled by those providers may be stored and processed outside Canada, and while it is outside Canada it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities of the jurisdiction where it is held. We use providers with published privacy and security commitments, and we limit what we send each provider to what its service requires.

How we protect it

We protect personal information with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity. Traffic between your browser and this site is encrypted in transit. Access to submitted information is limited to the principals of the firm and to the service providers named in this policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we review our practices as the business and its tools evolve.

How long we keep it

Consultation and trade inquiry submissions that lead to a project are kept as part of the project record for seven years after project completion, in line with warranty, liability, and tax record requirements, or longer where a claim or a legal obligation requires it. Inquiries that do not proceed to a project are deleted within two years of our last communication. Newsletter and cost guide subscribers are retained until you unsubscribe. Anonymous analytics data follows the retention defaults of the respective platforms (typically 26 months for GA4, 30 days for Clarity).

If a breach occurs

If a breach of security safeguards involving your personal information creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and report to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as PIPEDA requires, and we will keep records of the breach as the law requires.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request corrections, and to withdraw consent to further use. You may also request deletion; where the information forms part of a project or business record that we are required to keep, we will tell you what must be retained and why. To exercise any of these rights, email info@lemanconstruction.com with "Attention: Privacy Officer" in the subject line. We respond within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may raise the matter with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Cookies

We use cookies for analytics and to remember your cookie consent preference. You can decline non-essential cookies on first visit using the banner, or change your preference later through your browser settings. Essential cookies (those needed for the site to function) are not tracked through the consent mechanism.

Minors

This site and our services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. If you believe a minor has provided personal information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our data practices change. Substantive changes are noted on the "Last updated" line at the top of the policy.
